11 Gnarly 80’s Songs to Go From Buggin’ to #BossMode
Nothing says “I’m having a great day” like 80’s music. As a child of the 80’s, I have a very strong affinity for the poppy beats of my decade. You can oftentimes find me bingeing on nothing but the B-52’s for LITERALLY days.
So, while my previous #BossMode playlist helped you get in touch with your swagger, this 80’s edition will keep you riding high. And you can even listen to it without headphones because all these sweet jams are expletive-free.
Let’s Dance by David Bowie
Because you have the power of the voodoo.
Shake It Up by The Cars
Because you know how to shake it up and shake it off.
Walking On Sunshine by Katrina & The Waves
Because it feels so good.
Let’s Groove by Earth, Wind, and Fire
Because you have swagger and aren’t afraid to use it.
What Have You Done For Me Lately by Janet Jackson
Just because.
Give It To Me Baby by Rick James
Because Rick James.
Girl U Want by DEVO
Because no 80’s playlist would be complete without DEVO and their weird hats.
I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do) by Hall & Oates
Because you can’t be pushed around.
Good Stuff by the B-52’s
Because you do dang good stuff.
Rock The Casbah by The Clash
Because you rock. Period.
Rapture by Blondie
Because you are fabulous.

The 80’s had too many awesome songs to list but ‘Workin’ Day and Night’ by Michael Jackson is a must also. I would probably substitute ‘Whip It’ for ‘Girl U Want’, ’cause somedays it feels like I need a whip to keep people in line.
Great suggestions! If you want a laugh/some adornment for your desk, check out this AMAZING flow chart: http://incakolanews.blogspot.com/2014/04/the-whip-it-flowchart-is-best-thing-ever.html
Yes Tiffany! Great song. Although my frigid NYC heart cannot accept the words “cruel” and “summer” together. I would take a cruel summer over this ENDLESS WINTER any day! :)
Can’t forget “Cruel Summer” by Bananarama! This song just came on and snapped me out of my slumber!
