Every year we’re blown away by the tenacity, positivity, and creativity of each Ninja nominated for our All-Star awards… and this year’s round of winners was phenomenal. From Los Angeles to Maryland, the 2019 class of All-Stars stretched across the country, spreading cheer around their office and finding innovative ways to support their team.
Give one last round of applause for this year’s lineup of All-Stars — Ali, Zoila, Meghan, Byron, and Devin!
We asked Ali probing questions about her quickly evolving role and her secrets to Ninja success — and she didn’t hold back. Her number one piece of advice? Redefine challenges as opportunities, and make the most of every one that comes your way.
Zoila has excelled as a Ninja for 19 years — and she’s maintained an unshakeable positivity throughout. Armed with her task book, decisive demeanor, and a smile, Zoila navigates crises, coworkers, and technology with confidence cultivated from deep experience.
As part of her prize package, Zoila received a week-long stay, complete with meals, at the luxury Chaminade Resort & Spa, a mountain top retreat in Santa Cruz, California (courtesy of Benchmark Resorts!) — and a professional photoshoot.
What Meghan thought would be a quick stint in the administrative field while she figured out what she wanted to do, ended up becoming her true calling. Her favorite part of the job? Getting to know the things that make folks tick and finding little ways to bring them joy.
Talk to Byron Anson’s colleagues in the Shopify San Francisco office, and you’ll quickly learn that there are two distinct time periods: Before Byron and After Byron. One of Byron’s nominator’s gushed, “In my career in tech, he is hands-down the best office manager I’ve ever worked with. He’s always super-positive, works really hard, and is always coming up with great ideas to promote our culture. Our office would not be amazing without him!”
As the Executive Assistant at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, Devin Cecere knows a lot about working with passion. After making it into the local paper for working at a food pantry (in 7th grade) it seems only natural Devin would find her place collaborating, researching, and making waves at a food bank. Fueled by her organization’s mission and backed by her trusty gel ink pens, there’s nothing Devin can’t accomplish for her team.
All-Stars, you inspire us to keep learning, growing, and evolving the Office Ninja role! We’re so honored to have you represent our global community of dynamic admins.
