Admin Bash Fill-In-The-Blanks: What to Expect on Administrative Professional’s Day
Editor’s Note: We did things a little differently for Admin Day 2019. In addition to throwing our 7th Annual Admin Bash in San Francisco, we hosted OfficeNinjas Con, our first, full-day professional development conference! See highlights from OfficeNinjas Con and Admin Bash 2019.
Here at OfficeNinjas HQ we never get tired of talking about Admin Bash, aka the biggest celebration of Admin Day on the planet. The food (415 Catering)! The drinks (Bevi and Testarossa Winery)! The swag bags (Ashbury Images)! The 500 Ninjas all in one place at the same time! There’s a lot of material.
But we figured it was about time to flip the script and get a different perspective. We know Ninjas love the event (have we mentioned it sells out every year?), but Bash means something different to everyone who attends. So what about their experience keeps Ninjas coming back year after year?
We borrowed a page from our favorite rainy day recess activity and asked a few Ninjas to fill-in-the-blanks about their Bash experience. Here’s how they responded.

The first Admin Bash I attended was in 2014. I’d heard about it through a blog post shared by a friend, and I thought, “Wow. If they give this much thought to their articles, I can’t wait to see what their live events are like!”
In the days leading up to the Bash, I remember feeling excited as it got closer and closer.
As soon as I walked through the doors, I couldn’t believe how big and broad OfficeNinjas’ reach was. The overall vibe was warm and empowering, and everyone I met was thrilled to be there and actively participated.
Between the massage lounge, the vendor market, and the live entertainment, there were so many activities to choose from. But my absolute favorite thing was meeting both new vendors and those I was already working with because it was an opportunity to discuss their products in person, give feedback, and gain insight. I felt heard and appreciated.
Even though Admin Bash is a huge party, its networking opportunities are meaningful to me. I met Ninjas from so many different industries and companies and had so many energizing conversations including how we could help each other be successful.
Overall, I was most surprised at my first Bash by OfficeNinjas’ commitment to my experience and their respect for my role in the company as a decision maker. So when I got the invitation for Admin Bash 2018, of course I was like, “No brainer!”
I can’t wait to see both new and familiar faces.
If you haven’t scored your ticket to Admin Bash yet, all I can say is, “You will absolutely be thankful you reserved your spot before it sells out.”

The first Admin Bash I attended was in 2015. I’d heard about it through a fellow Ninja, and I thought, “I have GOT to be a part of this community.”
In the days leading up to the Bash, I remember feeling vibrant, full of curiosity, and hyper as it got closer and closer.
As soon as I walked through the doors, I couldn’t believe the flying unicorns, dancing gnomes, and raining skittles (totally pulling your leg). The overall vibe was just as rad as having flying unicorns, and everyone I met was an absolute joy. I loved exploring backgrounds and supporting one another through the teambuilding activities at the event.
Between the massage lounge, the vendor market, and the live entertainment, there were so many activities to choose from. But my absolute favorite thing was the scavenger hunt because it was an adventure solving admin-themed riddles.
Even though Admin Bash is a huge party, its networking opportunities are long-lasting. I met Ninjas from so many different industries and companies and had so many energizing conversations including a fantastic Ninja who traveled from Texas.
Overall, I was most surprised at my first Bash by the contagious energy. So when I got the invitation for Admin Bash 2018, of course I was like, “Ayooo where my Ninjas at?”
I can’t wait to see new and familiar faces.

In the days leading up to the Bash, I remember feeling unsure what to expect as it got closer and closer.
As soon as I walked through the doors, I couldn’t believe how many people there were. The overall vibe was incredibly festive and celebratory of the Ninja profession (instead of our day to day, which so often is about supporting others), and everyone I met was very friendly and very willing to share their tips and tricks.
Between the massage lounge, the vendor market, and the live entertainment, there were so many activities to choose from. But my absolute favorite thing was the photo booth because it was such a fun way to bond with other people I was meeting for the first time.
Even though Admin Bash is a huge party, its networking opportunities are long-lasting and valuable. I met Ninjas from so many different industries and companies and had so many energizing conversations including one with a woman who has since become a dear friend and collaborator at meetups!
Overall, I was most surprised at my first Bash by the creative and fun mini-events. So when I got the invitation for Admin Bash 2018, of course I was like, “Sign me up RIGHT NOW!”
I can’t wait to meet even more industry mentors, friends, and fellow photo booth enthusiasts.
